Example two - camp is often a safe space away from family, where youth get their first chance at declaring who they are. It is up to that youth if they are okay with staff using their name/pronoun they used at camp in front of their family. They may not be ready to tell their family some of the things they have discovered about themselves. That is their choice.
The picture is an excerpt from the affirming staff training manual for an absolutely amazing summer camp here in BC. I've highlighted a few bits for added emphasis. I think we should make a copy where we replace the word "camp" with "school" and deliver it to Alberta premier Danielle Smith, Ontario premier Doug Ford, and any other political leaders in Canada that are betraying the youth of our nation!

A photo of Tessa Violet looking in a mirror she's holding up to herself, with selected lyrics from her song "Honest".
- 1, 2, 3, and 4; how long til I feel like myself again?
- And I'd walk out the door, but... where would I go?

A photo of a twisty metal roller-coaster, with selected lyrics from Tessa Violet's song "Honest".
- Funny to notice that about yourself like all at once, I realize I didn't want to see it;
- And if I been going crazy, maybe it's because I keep on telling myself a story...
- That I should be doing fine by now.
This has been one of my favourite Tessa Violet songs since I first heard it in 2019, and it really helped me come to terms with my mental state, which then led to me starting this page. So I guess you could say "Honest" is the semi-official anthem of The Rollercoaster.
I also found this epic live version, which is different from the studio version, but just as emotionally cathartic!

Every time we try to have a conversation about toxic masculinity, toxic monogamy culture, toxic fandom, or any other aspect of the human experience where there's toxic subsets, there's gotta be those people...

When people talk about carbonated water, do these people say "not all water is carbonated, stop saying water is carbonated"

We can't always have good days; but by the same measure, we also can't always have bad days either. 😶🌫️

A cropped panel from the "SAGA" comics. A young girl named Sophie is sitting on the ground outside, with a huge green cat laying next to her. Sophie says, "I am all dirty on the inside because I did bad things with..." Before she can finish her sentence, Lying Cat says, "LYING".
Saga is one of the greatest comic series ever. If you haven't read it, you should! The only problem with it is, it's really hard to read when you're eyes are full of tears.
Note for those who have not read any of the SAGA comics, the character of Lying Cat, as the name implies, is a living lie detector.
