  • Normal vs Average

    post date: 1998-06-22 12:00

Normal? What's that? Normal is a setting on your drier. There is no such thing as normal when it comes to people. Everyone is normal to themselves because everyone is unique. Difference is the only thing we all have in common, and it is that difference that makes us all unique.

So how can something be normal then? You always hear it from the establishment. Well this person is not normal, so how can we help him or her to be normal? Well for one thing that person is perfectly fine and normal. It doesn't matter what you are talking about, everyone is normal to themselves and it doesn't matter if they are different because we are all unique.

Now average on the other hand does exist. There are many averages that the establishment use to judge normality (a non-existant standard.) Being average means that you have many things in common with other people in the same group as yourself. You know, majority rules and that kind of establishment created propaganda. Well majority does not rule when it comes to people. People are who they are and they should not have to change themselves for the sake of the establishment who would see all uniqueness wiped out. I myself am not average and in fact find it quite insulting when people tell me that I am not that different. I am as different as you can be. Why is that? Because I am completly against the propaganda pushed by the establishment to keep society in it's little box.

Everyone is striving to be normal so they can be accepted. However it is not normality that people should judge you by, it is the uniqueness and quality of your character. Why strive to be something that does not exist? Normal is in the eye of the beholder. Do not try to be average either. Why limit your character to the boundries set by the establishment. Break out and help tear apart the little box that society has been confined to for so long.

Who are you to judge normal? You are just basing your opinion of normal from your own normality and the averages defined by society and the establishment. Do not ever tell someone that you are normal and they are not because they do not fit into your version of normality. Normaility does not exist, you are trying to fit human character into a box like the establishment has done with society. Also do not catch yourself saying that you are not normal either. You may not fit into the averages set by society, but everyone is normal. The normal human condition is to exist. If you are existing then you are normal.

People do not wish to be judged by the classifications that the establishment places upon them. They want to be treated equal and accepted for their own unique attributes. Society is quick to reshape itself whenever there is a struggle between the truth and the establishment, however even though the truth sometimes manages to break a hole in the little box, the establishment will find a way of covering up the fact that there is more truth out there and will build up even bigger barriers around the parts of the box that are similar to the ones that have been broken through to make sure that the hole box doesn't get kicked open because of one small crack.
