"We take English for granted but if we explore its paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square, and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig. There is no egg in eggplant, no ham in hamburger, no apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins weren’t invented in England or French fries in France. Sweetmeats are candies while sweetbreads which aren’t sweet, are meat.”

About 'Rose' (2005-03-28) / Doctor Who

Okay, so I'll admit, I've seen the new episode already (the leaked copy) but I'm not going to write a review until I've seen the broadcast version, in case there are any differences. Now, I do want to say I absolutely LOVE it. It's great. This is Doctor Who for the 21st century.

Now a small comment on a something that people are saying is an inconsistancy issue. NOTE: This contains mild spoilers. We are given the impression that the Doctor has recently regenerated, and some people say that's an issue since another character has pictures of the new Doctor in various points around time, and how would the Doctor be in these pictures if he hadn't been around for a while? Easy: He's a bloody time traveller! He hasn't actually been to those places yet. It's a sign of where he may end up in other adventures. There, few, I had to get that out of the way. Geesh.

I'll add some more when I watch the episode on TV.
